Suved Parkar scored a double hundred after claiming five wickets for just nine runs to help Swami Vivekanand (Borivli) reach 362-2 at stumps against Gundecha Education (Kandivli) on Day One of the Harris Shield Elite Division boys U-16 inter-school match at Shivaji Park.

Earlier, the medium pacer’s fifer saw the Kandivli school bundled out for a paltry 26 runs. Interestingly, Parkar’s 5-9 came off just seven overs, of which four were maidens.

The 13-year-old is now eyeing a triple ton today before declaration. “I didn’t expect to score 200 today. I hope to reach 300 tomorrow after which we plan to declare the innings,” Suved told mid-day.
In another Harris Shield tie, Bhupen Lalwani of Don Bosco (Matunga) was out caught-behind on 175 against Paranjape Vidyalaya (Andheri) as Don Bosco posted a whopping 368-2 at stumps. He was ably assisted by Shreeraj Gharat, who is not out on 93.
Meanwhile, Al Barkaat MMI’s Jehangir Ansari was the other centurion on the day. Ansari scored 116 to help the Kurla team put on board 400-7 against Lilavatibai Podar (Santacruz). Among the day’s standout bowlers were Rizvi Springfield’s Prashant Solanki who took took 8-31 against VPMS Vidyamandir (Dahisar) and VPMS’s Omkar Ghule who also took eight wickets giving away 108 runs.
