Veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, who gave the film industry some of the finest war dramas of all time, including the National award-winning 'Border', is back with a bang as he presents his ambitious next titled 'Paltan'.

As per a recent development, the veteran filmmaker has recently signed one film old, Harshvardhan Rane to be part of his ambitious war drama. This move came after Abhishek Bachchan suddenly walked-off from the film citing personal reasons. This sudden desicion came as a shock on the eve of the film's first schedule in Ladakh. The actor and the filmmaker go back a long way. Junior B made his Bollywood debut in 'Refugee' (2000) and his love story with Aishwarya Rai began on the set of 'Umrao Jaan' (2006). Both the films were directed by Dutta. Tongues have been wagging about what on the home front prevented him from fulfilling the commitment. Bachchan was last seen in 'Housefull 3' (2016).

Now, it's learnt that the makers were looking for a tall actor, who not only had great screen presence but was also physically fit, and finally zeroed down on Harshvardhan was the perfect fit. Harsh, undoubtedly has an enviable physique that takes years of hard work to build.

After his Bollywood debut, 'Sanam Teri Kasam', the actor became an overnight sensation with female fans thanks to his looks, intensity, and striking screen presence.
The actor, who normally maintains a low profile, has been in talks with a few filmmakers and has now signed JP Dutta's 'Paltan'.

Harshvardhan is definitely an actor to watch out for, especially since he will now be rubbing shoulders with industry stalwarts in the war drama, touted as one of the biggest films releasing in 2018.

Nidhi Dutta of JP Films says, "Yes, we have signed Harshvardhan Rane for 'Paltan' but it's too early to divulge anything about the movie or his role."

Produced by JP Films and directed by JP Dutta, 'Paltan' is scheduled for a summer 2018 release.
