The Haryana government Tuesday said it was not averse to handing over the probe into the mysterious death of Geetanjali, wife of Gurgaon Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ravneet Garg, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that he will "not have any objection if the case of alleged murder of Geetanjali, wife of Ravneet Garg, chief judicial magistrate, Gurgaon, is handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, provided the victim family asked for it".
Talking to media persons here, Hooda said the family of Geetanjali met him but did not make any request for a CBI probe.

Garg was booked by the Gurgaon police for the alleged murder of his wife following a complaint by her family.
Geetanjali, 24, bore three bullet wounds - on her chin, chest and stomach - but no bullets were found in her body that was recovered in Gurgaon's Police Lines complex last Thursday. The CJM's licensed pistol was found near the body.
Garg and his parents will also face dowry harassment charges. They have been questioned by police regarding the mysterious death of Geetanjali.
The CJM told police that his driver and domestic help may throw some light on his wife's death.
Garg's in-laws alleged that they provided two cars to him on his and his family's demand. Besides, Rs.2 lakh were delivered to him at the time of the admission of his daughters to a school in May.
Geetanjali's brother Pradeep Aggarwal Saturday lodged a first information report against Garg and his parents, accusing them of murder.
"Ravneet and Geetanjali got married in November 2007. Everything was fine for a few years but the attitude of Ravneet and his parents towards Geetanjali started changing after she delivered two baby girls (now aged around four and a half and three years)," Aggarwal said in his complaint to the Gurgaon police.
He demanded a CBI probe into his sister's murder.
