Shatrughan and Poonam married on this day in 1980. They have three children -- Sonakshi and twins Luv and Kush.

After their marriage, Poonam left her acting career to raise their children. After a gap of 30 years, she starred in 'Jodha Akbar' (2008) in which she played the mother of Emperor Akbar, enacted by Hrithik Roshan.
