11:30 am
An unexpected shower makes all the ship gazers run for cover.

12:15 pm

A group of five approaches the vessel, and after checking their IDs, lifeguards help them use a wooden ladder to climb onto the ship. Wearing boiler suits, experts rev up a generator and black smoke billows out.

1:15 pm

All aboard are hard at work, moving pipes around. Other workers join them.

2 pm

The workers don gloves before moving into a restricted area on the deck, and work there for a while.

2: 45 pm
Lifeguards cordon off the area to prevent curious onlookers from approaching the ship.

3:15 pm

Two policemen join the lifeguards who are patrolling the area. After a short discussion, the seven men on board approach the ten blue barrels lined on a steel platform and inspect them. They then pull a green pipe and insert it in what appears to be a black drum.

4 pm
The generator is started again, and there is a buzz of anticipation amongst spectators as the ship toots its horn twice.

5 pm

Receiving instructions from experts on board the ship, lifeguards check the fan below the ship, which is stuck in sand. It is found to be in working order.

6 pm
Work on the deck continues. An official from Great Offshore Limited said, "We have inspected everything and hopefully will begin the main salvaging operation tomorrow. Everything on the ship has been readied for tomorrow's operation."

6:30 pm
Experts disembark from the ship to discuss matters below. Vijay Kamat, a police official said, "The operation will commence at 11:30 am on Friday, at high tide. The tide will be the highest in the month at 13 feet, and the tugboat will be able to pull the ship back into the sea. In case it doesn't finish tomorrow, the operation will surely be completed by Saturday."
