Noida authority has sought details of all foreign tourists and participants from organisers of the event
Keeping in mind the high crime rate in Noida, the local administration is going the extra mile to provide protection to foreigners who would be visiting the satellite town during the Formula One Grand Prix, scheduled to take place during October 28-30. The administration has sought details from the event organisers of all the foreigners including players who would be there in Noida in this period.

A senior official from Noida said that all policemen at check posts bordering Delhi will be armed round the clock. For the 40,000 odd foreign visitors who would be visiting the district, the administration has asked the local intelligence unit and the police to be vigilant. "Organisers have been asked to provide details such as name, age, nationality, name of the hotel, duration of stay etc of visitors from other countries," he said.
"If the hotel is in Delhi, organisers need to inform about the arrangements made for their pick and drop. Once such foreign visitors enter Noida, security would be given to them till the race track. After the event, security will again escort them back to the border. Security will be increased near hotels in Noida and Greater Noida where foreigners would be staying," added the official.
Besides, all hotels and guest houses, in Noida, have been instructed to keep the police informed about foreigners lodged there. The local intelligence agencies have also been ordered to keep an eye out for any suspicious activities.
Taking no chances
The multilayer security for the race will be jointly managed by foreign security agencies, UP Police, Delhi Police, organisers, and former SPG and NSG commandos. While a three-layer security arrangement will be in place at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort, where the members of the 12 teams and FIA officials are expected to stay, security for VIPs and VVIPs will be five-layered.
