“Me and Scott are expecting our first baby in the summer. We are both so happy and so excited. Thank you for all your kind messages,” Flanagan posted on her Twitter account. The Manchester City winger’s girlfriend is three months pregnant, and according to a source, who spoke to British tabloid The Sun, Flanagan is “bursting with excitement.”
According to the report, the couple have been wanting a child for some time now, and that’s what makes them even more excited. The source said: “It’s a much-wanted pregnancy which makes it all the sweeter. Helen is so thrilled. She was bursting with excitement.”
Man City winger Sinclair may not be a starting XI choice for team manager Manuel Pellegrini — he’s just made three appearances in all competitions this season and all have been off the bench — but he did come on as a late substitute in City’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
It is learnt that Flanagan is down with morning sickness. “Nothing better than your mum looking after you when your feeling ill,” she tweeted earlier this month.
Sinclair and Flanagan have been together for six years, though they did briefly split in 2013 amid reports that the footballer had sent some saucy text messages to TV presenter Donatella Panayiotou after they met during a holiday in Cannes.
The couple though got together soon after with Flanagan clarifying later that marriage is not her cup of tea just yet.
“I don’t think I’m ready for marriage, but I’ve always wanted to have children. I always feel broody, I’ve been broody since I was about 18! I absolutely love children, I really really do. I probably would do it before marriage as I feel more ready to have a baby than get married. I think it would be an absolute dream to be a mum. I would love it,” she had said.
