It was a night of merrymaking, marked by scrumptious food, frolic and fun as 50-year-old Manish Malhotra cut a 50-kg chocolate cake with friends and family in attendance last night. Looking dapper in a royal blue kurta, white pyajamas and red jacket, the birthday boy made an entry with buddy Karan Johar, who hosted the lavish bash at a suburban five-star.

Bollywood A-listers slipped into their best, and were careful to adhere to the party's 'golden' theme while selecting their outfits. Among the first to arrive were Abhishek and Ash, who stuck to cream, white and gold. Anushka Sharma made her second public outing with beau Virat Kohli, after having attended Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech's Goa wedding last week. Katrina Kaif, who arrived with Nitya Mehra, Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar, posed with Shweta Bachchan Nanda for shutterbugs.
An emotional Sophie Choudry said, "No one would believe he is turning 50, not only because of his good looks but also because of his zest!" Kat, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra stuck close together. Rumours of a tiff between Pari and Kat over statements made on Johar's chat show were put to rest when the duo mingled happily. Saif Ali Khan walked in with a very-pregnant Kareena Kapoor, who informed concerned guests that she is due "anytime next week". Shah Rukh Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle, Bipasha Basu, Tabu and Sushmita were also present.
