Mr Fried Chicken must do better to stand out amid Versova's big ticket restaurants
Who doesn’t like digging into a tub of juicy fried chicken pops? Well, when we heard of Mr Fried Chicken opening in Versova, we imagined ourselves sinning in fried heaven. However, our dreams were quashed away, soon.

The JP Road eatery offers combinations of chicken burgers, fries, vegetable burgers, and wraps. With few seats left, we decided on a takeaway instead. We placed an order for a Strips Meal (R220) that comprises fried chicken strips, a cold drink, and a portion of fries; a Spicy Chicken Burger (R95); and a Vegetable Crunchy Burger (R75). We had even asked for Paneer Pops and a Fish Burger, but were informed that those servings are yet to begin.
After a wait of almost 30 minutes, we brimmed with excitement.
Alas! As we sunk in our teeth into one item after the other, our excitement dipped to a new low. The food was cold.
The crunch factor salvaged the Veg Burger
Since we reached home soon, this wasn’t expected The chicken strips were not succulent and tasteless; a story that was retold by the chicken burger (which was not spicy, unlike its name) and the Veg Burger, whose saving grace was that it was crunchy. The lone item that tempted the foodie in us were fries, a poor reflection of an eatery.
