Shimla: A former BJP legislator in Himachal Pradesh was on Tuesday booked on a complaint by a woman who alleged that she was sexually assaulted by him two years ago.
In her complaint, the woman said she was sexually exploited in March 2012 by the accused Baldev Sharma, who was then a sitting legislator from Badsar in Hamirpur district.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dullar said the woman said she had approached the legislator for the transfer of her husband.
She said he called her to his residence in Shimla and sexually assaulted her.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party said the charges were false and politically motivated.
