Sajid will be directing the adaptation of 1983 hit Jeetendra-Sridevi starrer with Ajay Devgn in the lead. Like always, he insists that Himmatwala will do Rs 100-crore business in the first week of its release.
"I can't say I am a great director but I am the greatest audience. Since childhood I have done nothing other than watching films. Cinema is my life and I can never make a flop film. I make films for audience and not for myself," Sajid Khan said during the sound recording session for chartbuster song Taaki O Taaki by 100 musicians for 'Himmatwala'.
"I will never let down the audience. I have proved that three times now. I will do that again. My film 'Himmatwala' will cross Rs 100-crores in first week," he claimed.
Before the release of his film, Sajid tells every actor that the movie will be a blockbuster and it turns out to be. And even for 'Himmatwala' Sajid has told lead actor Ajay Devgn that the movie will be a superhit.
When asked, Ajay said, "Yes he (Sajid) did say that and I like that attitude. It is a kind of confidence which you should have and he has that. Sajid is sure of what he is doing. So it gives you a push and after I heard the script I agreed with him and I am sure it will be a fabulous film."
Recently, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra made a comment saying all rubbish films make Rs 100-crore at box office. On this Sajid said, "I don't know about numbers if the audience likes the film then it does well. Rubbish films are the ones which make Rs 100 crore because the audience likes them and you can t rubbish the audience. The ultimate verdict is of the audience, the numbers are not important. It is the feeling of the audience that is important."
