Most things vintage have their own charm. We loved these timepieces created by designer and numismatist Gaurav Mehta for the Jaipur Watch Company.
Working with auction houses and numismatic societies across India, the company acquires ancient, pre-Independence, World War era coins and coins from India’s currency revolution, to create Indian memorabilia in the form of watches. The coins are incorporated as the dial of the watch.
Each coin, including the one rupee, King George VI half silver coin and the 1 Pice Coin from the World War II era wherein a whole was punched into the coin to bring the minting cost down, tells the story of a time gone by.
Available The Big Door, 317/ 3, BR Ambedkar Road, Pali Hill, Khar (W).
Cost Rs 18,000 onwards
