A last minute strike gave India a 5-4 victory in their final game against hosts Bangladesh and helped them lift the U-18 Asia Cup here yesterday

Dhaka: A last minute strike gave India a 5-4 victory in their final game against hosts Bangladesh and helped them lift the U-18 Asia Cup here yesterday.


In what was almost a replay of the opening game, the two teams treated the fans to a thrilling nine-goal encounter with India emerging triumphant in the end. India scored in the last 20 seconds to outplay Bangladesh and emerge champions.


Goals from Shivam Anand, Hardik Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Ibungo Singh Konjengbam and Abhishek Yadav got India the win, while M Roman Sarkar, Mohammad Mohsin, Mohammed Ashraful Islam and Mahabub Hossain scored for Bangladesh.
