The five-member inquiry committee probing the allegations of sexual harrassment against women's national hockey coach Maharaj Kishan Kaushik yesterday submitted its report to Hockey India (HI).
Both Kaushik and the player Ranjitha Devi had filed their replies to the committee on Thursday.
The committee comprising Rajiv Mehta (chairman), Ajit Pal Singh, Zafar Iqbal (both Olympians), Sudarshan Pathak and Anupam Ghulati felt it was in no position to recommend any action against Kaushik as it has no power to do so. Moreover, the entire process has been reduced to the players' word against the coach's. The submissions have been forwarded to HI for further action but HI is also in no position to reach a conclusion with most of the 31-signatories to the charges away for the Asian Champions Trophy in Busan. If any action need to be taken it has to be taken by Sports Authority of India (SAI) as he is on its staff.
HI secretary-general Narinder Batra said the federation will send its recommendations to Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Saturday. "The inquiry committee has submitted its report to HI today. We will make our recommendations to SAI tomorrow," Batra told reporters.
Mehta said: "We have lot of testimonies. We've spoken to Kaushik, Ranjitha, some of the players and manager of the team (Madhu Yadav). We do not need to talk to anyone else."
