Say voters in Haryana, as they overwhelmingly vote for the Congress; want CM Bhupinder Hooda back

Elections are like festivals in India and it was ensured that the dry poll day in Haryana was never short on liquor supply. Bootleggers gave three cheers to the abysmal security on the state border, as they were able to smuggle in booze from the neighbouring Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi.
MiD DAY reporters were also able to buy a liquor vend near Ambala and visited a number of villages and polling stations on both sides of the Grand Trunk Road at Ambala, Kurukshetra, Ladwa, Karnal, Panipat and Sonepat but nobody bothered to frisk them.

The whole Haryana is watching with bated breath towards Uchana Kalan village in Jind district. This is where one of the most keenly contested elections is on. Indian National Lok Dal supremo Om Prakash Chautala is pitted against five time legislator and former finance minister Chaudhary Birender Singh.
Birender Singh has won all the elections from Uchana except in 2000 and may prove to be a giant slayer as Chautala INLD's chief ministerial aspirant has already taken the safer route by filing his papers from another constituency, Ellenabad.
On the poll pitch
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has never been in better form. Batting for his father Yograj Singh, the Indian National Lok Dal candidate from Panchkula, the star cricketer has dome everything to draw votes for his dad.
A veteran of 125 Punjabi films and a former cricketer, Yograj had put up posters of his star son across the constituency.
However, the father-son effort could go down the drain, as voters seemed impressed with the Congress government. "The Congress has done satisfactory work. Not only here but all across the state, the party should be given another chance to rule," said VK Bhatia, a bank employee at a polling booth at Sector-15, Panchkula.u00a0
