London: Sri Lanka paceman Shaminda Eranga has been suspended by the International Cricket Council having being found to have an illegal action, hours after he was hospitalised for tests on an increased heart rate.
The 29-year-old, who has played 41 times for his country in the three formats of the game, was reported for his action after the second Test against England at Chester-le-Street on May 31.
“The assessment revealed that all deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the
regulations,” said an ICC statement.
