Hotel puts curtains on common man's plot

However, once the development was done, the hotel raised curtains over the entire plot and shut the common man out. The hotel has been using the plot for private parties, and as a shooting locale for the last seven years. The entrance to the ground has been diverted to the hotel in such a way that citizens can't use it," said Latke.

Latke says the hotel has been served several notices by the BMC.

"All the notices have been in vain. We have written to the BMC to follow stipulated land acquisition procedures and obtain the land back. The matter comes up for discussion in the next improvement committee meeting," said Latke.

Hotel officials could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
