The R ‘n’ B singer, who admitted to Oprah in an interview, last week, that she had gained 57lbs while she was pregnant, avoids eating animal products to maintain her fit, post-baby body, the Daily Mail reported.
Her trainer, Marco Borges, told Life and Style that he recommended veganism to the 31-year-old hip hop artist as the diet “typically gets people to eat more greens than they normally would.”
According to Us magazine, even during her pregnancy she and husband Jay-Z both stuck to a “partially-vegan” diet to stay healthy and energetic together.
And since giving birth, Beyonce has continued to snack on vegan foods like edamame, green apples and cucumbers sprinkled with vinegar, cayenne pepper and lemon.
Beyonce’s trainer also said that her diet plan also includes a protein shake for lunch.
Her trained added that it wasn’t just the modified diet intense training and dance routines also played a large part.
