I don't like bragging: Irrfan Khan

"The Amazing Spider-Man", in which he plays Dr. Ratha, is set to release in India June 29, but Irrfan has hardly spoken about it.u00a0Asked why, he said: "I don't brag about it because I don't like bragging. I hate bragging. I don't enjoy bragging. Sometimes people have an attitude that bragging brings something to them, but I don't want to achieve anything from bragging. I don't like that."

At a press conference here Thursday, ahead of the movie's release, Irrfan said he speaks only when important.u00a0"I definitely do publicity for a film where I feel it is necessary, where I am excited about it, where I feel they need me... I go and do it. But I would like to be in a situation, where I don't have to do publicity for a film and people understand there is something special about it themselves. The audiences are not fools, they can smell films," he said.

Some of Irrfan's earlier international projects have included "A Mighty Heart" and "The Darjeeling Limited" and American HBO show "In Treatment".u00a0The actor, who won praises galore for his work in Hindi biopic "Paan Singh Tomar" about an athlete-turned-dacoit, has already cautioned fans about the length of his role in "The Amazing Spider-Man".

"I don't have a lengthy role in this film. I did it because it was a experience for me. In Hollywood, they call it as a pivotal role because it moves the story in some way, but I don't think it's a very big role. For me, my presence is enough and I enjoyed it," said the 45-year-old.u00a0Directed by Marc Webb, the film also features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Martin Sheen.
