Dear Diana, I am 45. I have a 19-year-old daughter from my first marriage and a six- year-old son from my second marriage.
My husband, who is 47, desires a second child. I am not keen as I have a daughter and son — so our family is complete. We are having major issues on this front for a while. I don’t want to go through a pregnancy and childbirth all over again.

Dear Simran,
Nowadays several women who are 40 plus are having children. In your case it is your personal choice which your husband does not seem to understand. I can understand your predicament of not wanting to go through labour pains yet again. Your daughter is 19 and your son is six. There is already a big age difference between them and with one more child the age gap will widen even more. You need to explain to your hubby and make him see sense. Also, if he is so keen for another child and if you don’t want to go through a pregnancy, I suggest adoption or surrogacy as an option.
Diana will solve it!
