Life couldn’t get better,” says the actor as CS catches him in a no-holds-barred mood…

First brush with acting
I must have been around 15 years when I saw my brother performing on stage, he was playing Hanuman. I enjoyed it thoroughly and without my knowing, the acting bug had bitten me. u00a0I learnt that a friend of mine was conducting acting workshops, so I dropped in to meet him. Before I knew it, I was doing theatre. It was a wonderful experience and I went on to do stage shows for a good 10 years. Theatre is very addictive as there is a live audience as compared to other mediums where you are acting for the camera.

The learning curve
My films -- No one killed Jessica and Shaitan -- was a good platform to showcase my acting skills. But 24 has given me tremendous exposure. Television has the power to connect with your audience as it is right there in people’s homes. Infact, I willsay that it has more impact than films.u00a0It’s also been a good learning experience. Anil Kapoor is a veteran but he is all charged up on the sets and is forever putting in extra efforts. Shabana Azmi’s sincerity towards her craft is admirable. Observing her is an experience in itself.

Media shy
I understand that the profession I have chosen is prone to media attention. But I prefer my personal space as I am shy by nature. That’s why I am not seen socialising much. Also, I am not on any social networking sites which is the norm for most actors these days.

Quality conscious
Being a theatre actor, story is of paramount importance to me. I look forward to being part of a script which has something new and unpredictable to offer. I also like to see the director’s previous work before I start working with him to trust his abilities implicitly.

Marital bliss
I got married on the 16th of this month. We went on a short honeymoon to the hills in the North. Pre-marriage was stressful because I had to finish a lot of work in limited period. I was shooting in the nights and sleeping during the days. Now that I havesome time, I am catching up with family and friends.

Travel diary
My favourite holiday destination is Cape Town because of its exotic scenic locations. I simply loved its sea food. Also, interesting are its museums and the historical significance and stories attached to it.
