ICSE results out, Vile Parle girl tops Mumbai class Xth exam

Today the results of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) were declared.

From Maharashtra 11,828 ICSE students for STD Xth appeared in which 55.49 percent were boys and 44.51 percent were girls for and 1,659 ISC students for XIIth exam appeared in which 50.87 percent were boys and 49.13 percent were girls.


In Mumbai student from Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School, Vile Parle, Mansi Arora topped scoring 98.8percent in ICSE Xth exam.


According to Board officials in ICSE girls have done better than boys, pass percentage is 99.81% and boys have achieved a pass percentage of 99.70%. In ISC girls have again done better than boys, with pass percentage 97.67% and boys have achieved a pass percentage of 96.92%.


Across India 1.4 lakh students appeared for ICSE Xth board exam in India in which girls were 78.441 boys and 62.437 girls and for ISC total 64.043 students appeared in which 35.258 were boys and 28.785 were girls appeared.

The pass percentage of India and abroad of ICSE result is 98.20percent and ISC 95.15 percent.

Overall result also is showing girls pass percentage then better then boys both in ICSE 98.78 pass percentage of girls and 97.73 of boys and ISC exams 96.66percent of girls and 93.91pass percentage of boys in India.

Amongst 652 dyslexia students 28 scored above 90percent and in visually challenged cases 37 appeared and 6 candidates obtained above 90percent.

In ISC 84 dyslexia students appeared and 4 scored above 90percent and in visually challenged students 15 appeared and 1 got above 90percent.

Mumbai ICSE topper

Mansi Arora, Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School, Vile Parle, who scored 98.8percent, is all excited for being topper of the Mumbai in ICSE Xth exam this year.

Talking to MiD DAY, Arora says, "I had come fourth in my prelims of Xth in school level exam and all excited and happy to know that I am topper from Mumbai.

"Definitely my credit of success goes to my parents and school teachers for their support and no stress in any way. There were major changes during my batch and it was that the board cancelled environmental studies subject from the syllabus. But our school helped us a lot in academics.

"I wish to go for commerce stream and wanted to be CA is my plan and MBA in finance. I have always admired my elder sister who is studying in abroad now and good at studies."

Another amongst the topper with 97.4percent, Pratyush Chaudhary Ryan International School Kharghar, said, "I am very happy that I scored 97.4% as I was expecting above 95 percent. I scored very less in my class 9th.

“I have now enrolled in one institute to prepare for Joint Entrance Exams as I wish to get entry in IIT-Bombay. My aim is to be an engineer and so am going to give my hundred percent like I gave in my Xth Board in JEE.

“Scoring less in grade IX encouraged me to study hard and score better this time. My friends who are competitive helped me a lot in studies and have healthy competition."

Mumbai ISC topper:

Nestor Fernandes, from Lilavatibai Podar School at Santacruz, passed his ISC exam XIIth from Science stream in board exam with score 98 percent.

Fernandes, said, "I had always dedicated my time for my studies that have given me the fruitfull results. I have given my exam of IITJEE this year scoring 173 out of 360. I am going to apply for advance competitive exam now so that I can get entry in any IIT's and my aim is to be an engineer. I always had looked up to go for ISC exams then HSC. I didn’t follow any particular pattern of studies but have been dedicated that’s true."
