Actor Idris Elba is in talks to star in the upcoming romance drama 'The Mountain Between Us'.

Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike were previously attached to play the protagonist in the film, reports a website.
'The Mountain Between Us' is based on Charles Martin's 2010 bestselling novel about a surgeon and woman who fall in love after being stranded following a plane crash when the pilot has a heart attack mid-flight.
They must figure out how to get out of the mountain wilderness, where the temperature drops at night, while suffering broken ribs and a leg fracture. The film will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad.
Idris Elba will be seen next in 'Star Trek Beyond' as the bad guy, Krall.
