Nashik: More than 1300 boxes of illicit liquor worth Rs 1.5 crore was seized by Excise sleuths following raids in Thane and Nashik district.
The huge stock comprising 1351 boxes was impounded from two trucks separately at Shahpur dhaba in Thane and Pachore-Vani-shivar in Nashik by a mobile squad after a tip off that liquor was reaching there from Haryana, said Excise inspectors Digambar Shewale and Mukund Bilolikar, who carried out the raids.
They were accompanied by inspectors Tanuja Dandekar and Prasad Surve.
The first raid was conducted at Shahapur dhaba while the second was carried out by Dandekar and Surve at Pachore-Vani.
In all, four persons were arrested after the raids and the trucks were seized. Further investigation is on.
