The cops disclosed that the blasts were carried out to avenge the death of Qateel Siddique, a militant of IM killed by Sharad Mohol and Alok Bhalerao on June 8, in Yerawada jail. Besides, the police also revealed that the trio wanted to kill the families of Mohol and Bhalerao, but the plan was given up, as they could not identify them.

This plan was also given up, as they could not identify their family members.u00a0Finally, the Bhatkal brothers decided to use the operatives to carry out blasts either at Pune or in Mumbai.
