With Imran Khan opting out of Ekta Kapoor's next, Shahid Kapoor could be paired opposite his ex Priyanka Chopra in the film
Looks like Imran Khan’s loss is Shahid Kapoor’s gain. With Imran walking out of Ekta Kapoor’s next, the makers are said to have roped in Shahid Kapoor in his place. Incidentally, the film co-stars Sasha’s ex Priyanka Chopra.

Sources say since Imran was keener to work in Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming film that will portray him as a Gujarati superhero, and hence opting out of Ekta’s project to be helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
A source says, “Imran was initially kicked about Ekta’s film. However, the dates for the film were tossed around more than thrice and a lot of time was spent looking for the leading lady until PC was finalised. In the meanwhile, Imran signed Motwane’s next and he wants to be completely involved in it.
He and Ekta parted on amicable terms. Shahid was then approached to step into his shoes. It will be interesting to see his on screen chemistry with his former girlfriend.” Industry insiders say that perhaps this was the reason why Sasha attended Ekta’s bash for Lootera. Shahid, Ekta, Imran and Tigmanshu remained unavailable for comment.u00a0
