Incidents like Dadri, Ghulam Ali really sad, but why blame Centre, asks Modi

New Delhi: Voicing his opinion clearly for the first time over the Dadri lynching and the protest against Ghulam Ali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that they were ‘sad’ incidents indeed, but asserted that the Centre could not be blamed and also lashed out at the opposition accusing them of playing ‘politics of polarization’

"These incidents are unfortunate. However, there is no connection to the Centre and these issues are related to law and order and the concern of the state governments." The Prime Minister told in an interview to Anand Bazaar Patrika.

Prime Minister Modi stressed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always been against ‘fake secularism’ and always opposed ‘pseudo secularism’.

"Incidents like Dadri and Ghulam Ali are really sad but what is the role of the Centre in these incidents?” The Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Modi had severely been criticised by the opposition for not speaking up on the incident, while members of his party often made inflammatory remarks.

There has been a growing chorus against the ‘rising cases of intolerance’ in the country and the Centre has been targeted for not taking strict action.

The Shiv Sena had vehemently protested against a concert by legendary Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali and the launch of a book by former Pakistan minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri

Media is unnecessarily blowing this issue, as if Mr.Modi ordered the attack. He isn't CM of Gujarat anymore, to put the blame of this yet another barbaric act on him. He is the honorable PM of India, who is not in India for quite sometime. Which means he knows nothing about whats happening in India and cant comment on anything in which he is not involved. Why dont they understand this? Media is unnecessarily pulling his leg into the mud, trying to taint his image along with his costly dress.

Contd:- local version of this... "I am traveling abroad only for the 'welfare' of my family. Why don't anybody understand that. If my home is vandalized and my wife and children are beaten to death, by my own 'relations'... what am I supposed to do? Of course, its sad that they are beaten to 'death'. But how can I say 'what they did is wrong' to my relations? let alone, how can you expect me to take action against them? I am not there only.
