Thane: Local organisation working in the field of tribal welfare Shramajivi Sanghatana, today urged Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to include history of tribal freedom fighters and martyrs in school textbooks and curriculum.
In a memorandum submitted to the CM, founder president of the organisation Viddyulata Pandit said freedom fighters and martyrs from the tribal community have sacrificed their lives for the nation and contributed in its freedom struggle.

"Youth, today, specially students should be aware of the contribution of such heroes. Hence, their history needs to be included in textbooks," he said on occasion of UN Day of World's Indigenous People, today.
