IND vs ENG: BCCI yet to sign Memorandum of Understanding with ECB

Even though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the first two Tests against the visiting England team at its headquarters in Mumbai yesterday, it has not signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the five-match Test series against England with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

"How can we sign the MOU unless they (Lodha Committee) tell us we can do so? An MOU is a contract. Till there is a clarification whether we can sign it, we won't sign it," an Indian cricket board official said yesterday.

The official also clarified that the BCCI has not received any invitation from the Lodha Committee to meet them.

"If they invite us, we will meet them. There are seven days to go for the Rajkot Test so let's see," he added. For the first time since 1984-85 India and England will play a five-Test series in India. David Gower's team won that series against Sunil Gavaskar's side.
