The BCCI took a decision late last evening to allow spectators to watch the first warm-up match between Board President's XI and New Zealand at Brabourne Stadium for free. Throughout the day, the Cricket Club of India officials were awaiting clarity from the BCCI regarding security measures to be undertaken for the match.

While the police was ready to provide security if one of the stands were opened up for spectators, there was no clarity from BCCI over the cost of police security. However, late in the night, CCI officials learnt about the BCCI's clearance to bear the cost for security.
