Kohli led the run-chase, slamming his 15th ODI ton, but the win was not without a few glitches, with the inexperience of Indian bowlers exploited by a couple of Zimbabwean batsmen.

Opener Sikander Raza nearly got a hundred while lower down the order, Elton Chigumbura managed to torment the Indians for quite a while with a 34-ball 43 which included half a dozen boundaries.

Pace spearhead R Vinay Kumar suffered the most, going for more than six an over off his nine. On the brighter side, the rest of the attack made up for his off day with spinner Amit Mishra picking up three wickets in 10 overs.

Among the batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan were off-colour and they would like to get back to the form they have displayed in the last couple of months.

On the other hand, Ambati Rayudu who hit an unbeaten 63 could not have asked for a better start to his international career. u00a0If he can continue in the same vein in the coming games, the 27-year-old’s confidence would certainly head northwards.u00a0
