India thrash Oman 9-1 in Hockey World League

A brace each from vice-captain VR Raghunath, Rupinder Pal Singh and Nithin Thimmaiah helped India beat Oman 9-1 to register their second straight victory in Round Two of the men's Hockey World League at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium here yesterday

India thrash Oman 9-1 in Hockey World League

Dharamvir Singh (20th minute), debutant Mandeep Singh (42nd) and penalty corner specialist Gurjinder Singh (65th) were the other goal scorers for the hosts.


Raghunath (3rd, 40th) and Rupinder (14th, 38th) converted two penalty corners apiece while Nithin (16th, 60th) scored two goals through field efforts.


Mohammed Hubais Al Shar scored the lone goal for Oman.u00a0
