Earlier, Thirush Kamini (192) and Poonam Raut (130) had steered the hosts to 400 for six declared in their first innings and then managed to bundle out the South Africans for 234 in their first essay.
Forced to follow-on, the visitors once again failed to put up any resistance, as they got all out for a meagre 132 in 78.2 overs in their second innings to save Indian eves from batting again.
Resuming on 83 for six in their second essay, South Africa still needed 83 runs to avoid an innings defeat, but the remaining four batters could play just 37.2 overs today as their innings folded shortly after lunch.
