Kondhwa police have booked Indian Muslim Front (IMF) President Munnawar Qureshi and his wife Nigar Khan for allegedly storming into a house, threatening and beating up the family members of one Sana Rafique Shaikh (25) on Saturdayevening.
The complaint was filed by Sana, and the couple has been booked under Sections 452, 341, 506 and 34 of the IPC.
The incident took place at Anaisa Apartment in Kondhwa, and according to the police, Sana and the accused are involved in a legal battle over the ownership of the flat, and a case has also been registered at Civil Court regarding the same.
According to the police, Qureshi claims that he owns the flat.
“On Saturday, Qureshi and his wife entered the complainant’s flat, locked the door from inside, and started abusing and thrashing Sana’s mother and brother,” said PI Sudam Pachorkar of Kondhwa police.u00a0
