Mirpur: Shahid Afridi who has recovered from a groin injury sustained during the Asia Cup is slowly getting back into the groove and enjoyed a vigorous training session yesterday.
He took to the nets twice yesterday and spent much of his time focussing on his bowling and fielding, especially catching. The 34-year-old looked energised and told mid-day: "I am feeling much better now and hope to return soon."
Asked about Afridi's batting position in the tournament, Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez said: "For Afridi there is no fixed position. He is our trump card and we will use him wherever the situation demands."
