Football is a beautiful game. But yesterday, the match between St Xavier's (Vile Parle) and Don Bosco (Borivli), was an all out war where the only intention of the players was to hurt their opposition.
Though Don Bosco sailed into the quarter-final of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) U-16 Ahmed Sailor knockout tournament with a 2-0 win at Azad Maidan, the game was marred by ugly brawls.

Three St Xavier's playersu00a0-- Sebastian Coutinho, Ashish Mistry and Kirk Misquittau00a0-- were shown yellow cards while Desmond Naronha of Don Bosco was given the same treatment for pushing an opposition player.
Bosco's striker Gaurav Nagarkatti, who scored a brace, said the referees should have punished St Xavier's boys further. "Referees should have shown the red card to them (St Xavier's). They not only abused us, but also hit some of our players," Gaurav said.
Revenge
However, St Xavier's coach Caje said they wanted to give Bosco a taste of their own medicine.
"Our players were aggressive because Bosco did the same when we played against them during a DSO match recently. They (Bosco) played a very rough game and also fractured our player Anseum Dias' hand. The players were angry after that incident and wanted to take revenge," he said.
