IPL 2017: Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the best bowler in IPL history, says Muttiah Muralitharan

Bangalore: Muthiah Muralitharan knows a thing or two about bowling, as many as 1347 international victims stand testimony to that. So when Murali calls someone the best bowler in IPL history, you had better sit up and take notice.
The unstinted praise though is well earned, for that is the kind of showing Bhuvneshwar Kumar has come up with time and again, season after season in the IPL.
"I think he's the best," started Murali at a media interaction here, when asked to rate Bhuvneshwar's bowling. "I'm not saying this because he's from SRH. I've been seeing him over the last 4-5 years, even when I was not here (with SRH). He's the best bowler in IPL history," insisted Murali.
He didn't stop there but went on to explain why he though the seam bowler was the best. "He bowls two overs in the powerplay and two at the death and yet his economy rate is so low," stated Murali.
"Whatever the team has asked of him, he has delivered. Unfortunately, he hasn't played much T20 cricket for India. He will be a very big prospect for India as well...in these conditions or in any conditions. Hopefully people will realise that because he hasn't played much for India. He's one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history as a fast bowler," gushed the man who finished as the highest wicket-taker in Tests.
The SRH coach, Tom Moody was on the same page as the legendary spinner. "Murali has seen a lot of cricket and he is a good judge. He (Bhuvneshwar) is having a good year. He has been outstanding over a period of time. His striking ability with the new ball and his death over bowling are great. Bowlers who have that skill are far and few in between," said Moody.
Bhuvneshwar won the Purple Cap last year and is the leading the wicket-taker this season too. Such consistency in the shortest form of the game is rare.
