Rajkot: With both teams desperate to improve their performance with nothing going right or according to plan for them, today's match between Gujarat Lions (GL)âÂu00c2u0080Âu00c2u0088and Rising Pune Supergiant (RRS) here promises to be an exciting affair.

While the Lions were mauled in their first two matches, Supergiant have only flattered to deceive after beating Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter before losing their next two games.

The Lions appear to be completely demoralised after suffering 10 and nine-wicket defeats in the first two matches. Opponents have made the most of their lacklustre batting, ordinary bowling and pathetic fielding. Lions will look to put up an improved performance, especially now that their star player Ravindra Jadeja has returned after enjoying the "privileged rest" following a gruelling international home season.

"Jadeja has joined the team, but Dwayne Bravo is still recuperating. Jadeja is a man in form and his return is bound to strengthen the side and boost its confidence," Lions' assistant coach Sitanshu Kotak told mid-day.

"I admit we had two bad games, but nothing can be done about that now. We can only look forward with a positive frame of mind. "We are very confident of doing better in our remaining matches. All we have to do is put up a sustained collective performance," added Kotak.
