Mumbai Indians' five-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday was just the ammunition they required at the right time in the Indian Premier League.
Beating the defending champions has not just given Mumbai Indians a chance to keep their play-off hopes alive, but also boosted the team's confidence for their last league match of the tournament.

Hardik Pandya, the star of MI's win against KKR, felt MI are confident of making the cut in the rat race for the Top 4.
Positive atmosphere
"We are quite happy. The atmosphere is pretty good and positive. If we get the next win we can qualify for the play-off. This (game) was very crucial for us... everyone knew it -- individuals as well as the team," said Pandya, whose whirlwind 31-ball 61 not out helped Mumbai Indians post 171-4. MI take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.

Although 21-year-old Pandya was the star of Thursday's win, the Baroda-based all-rounder stressed that Kieron Pollard's brilliant final over won them the game.
"It must be Pollard's bowling. Yusuf (Pathan) was playing and was on strike. He got him out first ball which made the difference. This last over was more important than my knock as the entire result was (based) on this over," said Pandya. Needing 12 off the last over, Pollard conceded only six runs and helped MI post a sensational victory.
