Indian Premier League (IPL) will conduct a hearing Thursday into Ravindra Jadeja's appeal against his ban from the Twenty20 tournament for one year.

The IPL governing council Tuesday said it has requested Arun Jaitley, president of Delhi and District Cricket Association, to hear the appeal. The hearing will be held in Mumbai.

"The IPL governing council has taken a decision to hear Ravindra Jadeja's plea and will also listen to representations from the two franchises -- the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians," IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said in a statement.

Jadeja was banned for not signing the renewal contract with the Rajasthan Royals and instead negotiating a larger financial contract with Mumbai Indians.

"Arun Jaitley will at the behest of the IPL governing council chair the hearing and arrive at a final decision on the matter. Jaitley will hear representations from Jadeja and both the franchisees involved, prior to reaching a decision. The same shall be binding on all parties concerned," Lalit Modi said in a statement.
