Sri Lanka's 1996 World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga's term as the head of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was short because of his opposition to IPL, a report in The Island newspaper has claimed.
Ranatunga expressed his unhappiness when the importance of the 2009 Test series against England in England was being undermined due to the Twenty20 extravaganza.
