The explosive batsman, who plays for the Delhi Dardevils, has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with an injury to his right knee during the ongoing tour of New Zealand
Delhi Daredevils have suffered a setback in their quest for IPL glory with explosive England batsman Kevin Pietersen being ruled out for six to eight weeks with a right knee injury.
The 32-year-old cricketer will also miss the last Test at Auckland against New Zealand, commencing Friday, because of the injury that has been troubling him during the Kiwi tour.

The England and Wales Cricket Board on its website said on Wednesday that Pietersen felt pain in his knee before a four-day match earlier this month, and that a recent scan showed "bone bruising and possible cartilage damage to the knee cap."
The ECB says Pietersen will return to England for further treatment and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks — ruling him out of the upcoming IPL season set to start on April 3rd.
This isn't the first time that Pietersen has had to quit a tour mid-way due to injury. In 2009, a career-threatening Achilles injuryforced him to quit the Ashes series mid-way.
