'Iron Man 3' sets record for biggest April release in Italy

'Iron Man 3', which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, has set a record for the most successful box office opening in Italy during the month of April.

The third sequel in the 'Iron Man' franchise grossed in 11.3 million dollars from 26 to 28 April 13, and also became the biggest release of 2013 so far in the European country, Contactmusic reported.

The film opened on 862 screens throughout the country, but will open in the US on Friday.
