A biopic on Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni is apparently set to release next year and the cricketer's wife recently showed her support for the film — it will reportedly be directed by Neeraj Pandey — by uploading the first poster of the film on a social networking site.
It may be pointed out that from the time the film was announced, it has been making news due to various reasons. The latest buzz is that the cricketer will co-produce this film.
"Dhoni is apparently going to co-produce his biopic, but the fact is that he needs to retire before a biopic on his life is made. No films can be made until and unless the player has announced his retirement. Also, the player needs to take permission from the BCCI especially since Dhoni is still a part of the Indian cricket team," says a source.
Another source close to the BCCI says that the body has not received any kind of proposal or request from any one to make a film on MS Dhoni. "They were unaware about any movie being made on him. Such a film can’t be made because he’s still playing for the country," says the source.
Dhoni's manager too denied the story.
