Anupam Kher added yet another feather to his cap recently after becoming the new recipient of The Asian Award in London.
The veteran actor picked up his trophy at the third edition of the awards gala at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday. The others who also received the coveted award were Sir Ben Kingsley and singer Nicole Scherzinger while the late Hollywood legend Bruce Lee received the honour posthumously.
Kher was awarded in the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema category. The actor has made several outings in Western cinema, most recently with Silver Linings Playbook and is also an ambassador for Asians in world cinema.
Says Kher, “As an actor all we want is to make people laugh, cry and persuade many other emotions by our craft. Our achievement at the end of the day comes when the audience really understands what we are doing. It is also an honour to be given this award in the same year as Sir Ben Kingsley.”
