Los Angeles: Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has signed her first Hollywood movie, "Baywatch", opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, movie's writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift have confirmed.
The screenwriters posted the news about Priyanka's involvement with the project through their joint Twitter account. Re-tweeting a story by The Hollywood Reporter, they wrote, "Been sitting on this one for a while. So excited about her!"
"Baywatch" is Paramount's big-screen take on the popular 1990s television series about California lifeguards. Seth Gordon is directing the feature and the Indian beauty is apparently set to play a negative role.
The movie centres on the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson), who is forced to team up with a young, hotshot former Olympian (Efron) to save their beloved bay.
Priyanka, 33, has already made her mark internationally with her debut American series "Quantico", besides a singing career. In India, she was appreciated for her last role of Kashibai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani".
