Chirag made his acting debut with 2011 film 'Miley Naa Miley Hum' opposite Kangna Ranaut, Neeru Bajwa and Sagarika Ghatge. The film did not do well at the box office and later he got involved with party work.

"Acting was something that I wanted to do but I was very clear that eventually it would be politics. It was always my final destination. You may call it dynastic or whatever but the fact is politics is what I know best," Chirag told PTI.

The one-film-old actor has no regrets about his brief stint in Bollywood but says it is unlikely that he will head there again.

"To be honest, I enjoyed every bit of it. I thought I had a couple of more years in that industry but the situation did not allow it. I got myself actively associated with politics when my father fell ill. I tried to cover for his absence and there was no looking back for me.

"So, no Bollywood as of now. I have realised that politics is a very serious subject. You cannot take it lightly. I am happy that senior leaders in the party think of
me as someone who is serious about the job," said Chirag, who won the Jamui seat in Bihar for LJP by defeating nearest rival Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar of Rashtriya Janata Dal in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
