If sources are to be believed, two of Akshay Kumar’s films are releasing on the same day. Says a source, “The actor has quite a few big films lined up for release next year and two of his films, Baby and Gabbar, are releasing on the same day. This has left both films’ producers in a fix.”

The source adds that both producers want to release their films on January 23, 2015. “Gabbar’s makers had first announced January 23 as their release date. But now it turns out that Baby’s makers are looking at same date. With Akshay headlining the cast in both projects, it will be really difficult for him to promote these films. It makes sense for him to shift the release of one of his films or else they will eat into each other’s business,” says a source close to the actor.

On their part, the producers of Baby are said to be aware of this problem and are apparently working towards ensuring that their film is a solo release. “They had also asked Sanjay Leela Bhansali, producer of Gabbar, to shift the release of his film, but it seems that Bhansali is in no mood to do so,” says the source.

Bhansali remained unavailable for comment, whereas an official from T-Series, that is co-producing Baby, confirmed that their film would release on January 23.
