The Virat Kohli-led unit won’t get a better opportunity to correct their away record than today’s game against an out of form Pune Warriors India team at the Subrata Roy Sahara stadium.
For a batting line-up that includes Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Viliers, it’s been quite inexplicable to lose all four away games — against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. “I have never been part of a team where you win six out of six and lose four out of four. I don’t think it has anything to do with home ground advantage. We played badly in the last two games (against MI and RR).

“Our executions were not up to the level that is expected. Even if they were home games, we would have lost them. If you ask me why we have not won in away games, I can’t pinpoint on anything,” Jennings explained.
The South African, known for his clear and straight talking, also admitted that the team became a bit complacent after a superb start. “The way we played in the first four games, it’s in human nature, and we became a bit complacent. We played on April 7th, 9th, 11th and 13th and we had the momentum going in our direction,” he added. Home or away might not be a big factor, as Jennings says, but a win would be important to continue their march towards play-offs after back-to-back losses.
“We have six more games to go, and if we can win four out of them, that would be good,” PWI pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar said after their loss against CSK on Tuesday night. When Kumar, the only PWI bowler who could control Gayle during his record-breaking 175-run knock few days back, says that, one has to accept it.
