First owner sold vehicle to Mumbai resident Vishal Ingle on June 6, 2008, say police

The Toyota Qualis which was used by the shooters associated with the Chhota Rajan gang in their alleged operation to murder veteran journalist J Dey originally belonged to a youth from a small village called Nagri Kadepathar near Jejuri, about 40 km from the city. The first owner of the seized vehicle (MH12 CD 7701) was Yashwant Tukaram Wandekar, a resident of Nagri Kadepathar village, about 5 km from Jejuri in Purandar taluka.

The vehicle registration details accessed through the Trafficop software of the city traffic police revealed this information. "Wandekar had purchased the vehicle on July 5, 2004, but sold it off to a person called Vishal Ingle on June 6, 2008," said Police Inspector (Planning) Vijaykumar Palsule from the traffic branch. According to information available with the RTO, Ingle is a resident of Janatanagar in Kandivli, Mumbai. The vehicle engine number is 2L5451324 and the chassis number is LF50V1118783. Whether Ingle has any past criminal record or sold the vehicle to another person is not yet known.
